How it works

Your music becomes the workout.

Every other indoor cycling app hands you its library. Spinjam reads yours, then builds the ride around what it finds.

  1. Pick songs you already own

Files on the phone, a folder from a NAS, or your device music library. Nothing is uploaded. The analysis runs on the phone.

  2. Spinjam listens to them

It measures tempo, energy over time, and where the track steps up or drops away. That is the shape the ride is cut from.

  3. The ride follows the song

A drop becomes the start of an effort. A quiet passage becomes recovery. Cadence lands on a real ratio of the beat, so the pedal stroke matches what you are hearing.

  4. A voice rides with you

Spoken cues call the next change before it arrives, so you are set up for it rather than reacting to it.

  5. Your bike fills in the rest

Connect a Bluetooth bike or sensor and Spinjam reads cadence and power live, then shows your actual effort against the target.

How much the music leads

One setting, four positions. It decides whether the workout plan or the song wins when the two disagree.

SettingWhat it does
ExerciseThe training plan decides everything. The music just plays.
BalancedPhase boundaries move to land on the music. Intensity stays on the plan.
Follow the musicThe song's own sections become the ride's stages, with a floor on how short a stage can be.
JamThe song is the structure. Stages get as short as the music asks for.

What it needs

PhoneAndroid today. iOS is in progress.
MusicAudio files you already have. No subscription to a catalogue.
BikeOptional. Any Bluetooth bike or sensor speaking the standard fitness profiles.
NetworkOptional. Analysis and playback both work offline.

Nothing leaves the phone. Track analysis happens on the device. Spinjam does not upload your library, and it does not need an account to build a ride.
